1. These Terms and Conditions,
together with any rules specific to a competition, apply to all competitions
run by East of England Tourism, unless otherwise expressly stated. By entering
a competition, entrants agree to be bound by these rules.
The closing date for the competition is 31.10.08.
The winner will receive an email confirming their prize. The train tickets are
subject to availability and must be booked in advance.
Competition winners must
allow 5 working days or more for train ticket delivery. Winners will need
to state the desired time and date of travel (both outward and return)
and CrossCountry (XC) will endeavour to match these as closely as
possible, subject to availability. Travel is only available on the XC network. Tickets
are not valid on other operators' services. Details of the routes served are
available online at crosscountrytrains.co.uk. The prize includes 4 Standard Class
return tickets. XC does not take any responsibility for lost tickets.
Replacements cannot be issued. The National Rail Conditions of Carriage apply
for travel on all XC trains. For more details please see crosscountrytrains.co.uk.
The hotel must also be booked in advance.
2. The competition is organised by
East of England Tourism (EET), Dettingen House, Dettingen Way, Bury St.
Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3TU
3. In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all
other matters relating to a competition, the decision of EET shall be final and
no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
4. To qualify to enter the competition you must be resident in the
5. Employees of XC, EET, its members, partners or any company involved in the
competition, or members of their families or households, are not eligible to
enter the competition.
6. XC and EET reserve the right to disqualify any entrant if it has
reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the rules.
7. Only one entry per person per competition is allowed (except where otherwise stated) and any
entrant who enters more than the permitted maximum will have any additional
entries discounted.
8. There is no purchase requirement to enter a competition, and there is no
charge to register for use of the web site.
9. Proof of entry, is not proof of receipt.
10. Entrants should note that unless stated otherwise, EET and XC do not accept
responsibility for the return of any entries, including those consisting of
artistic or other material.
11. Prize winners will be chosen at random unless specified otherwise, from all
qualifying entries within 21 days of the competition closing date. Tie-breakers
will be judged by EET and XC and, if required by law, by an independent
adjudicator. If EET or XC are
unable to make contact with any prize winners, via email or telephone
communication, within a period of 1 calendar month from the point of first
contact, we reserve the right to redraw the winner.
12. Competition winner(s)' names may be published on the EET web site, or
you can write to Competition Prize Winners, East of England Tourism, Dettingen
House, Dettingen Way, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3TU - naming the specific
competition. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for a list of winners.
13. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. EET
reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
14. All prizes are awarded at EET’s and XC’s
discretion.
15. All taxes, insurances, transfers, spending money and other expenses (including meals or personal expenses upgrades, etc) as
the case may be, unless specifically stated, are the sole responsibility of the
prize winner.
16. EET and XC do not, unless we agree this with you, claim any rights of
ownership in your entry. As such, you retain ownership of your entry, although
EET and XC will be able to use or reproduce entries as we choose fit, without
compensation.
17. Winners may be requested to take part in promotional activity, and EET and
XC reserve the right to use the names and addresses of winners/photographs of
them in any publicity.
18. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance
